The Dallas Wings have announced their 2025 Opening Day roster. They will host the Minnesota Lynx in front of a sold-out crowd on Friday May 16. With the addition of top draft pick Paige Bueckers and several key acquisitions, the team is poised for a significant turnaround.
Guards
Paige Bueckers
Selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, Bueckers brings exceptional playmaking and efficient shooting to the Wings. Those two key areas are what the Wings struggled in last season. In her senior year at UConn, Bueckers averaged 19.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
Bueckers enters the league with a maturity and poise beyond her years. While the spotlight follows her, she's not trying to replicate anyone or compare, she’s bringing her own unique blend of vision, creativity, and scoring touch to a Wings team eager for a new identity. Bueckers begins her highly anticipated WNBA journey with the Dallas Wings against her hometown team, Lynx.
Arike Ogunbowale
A four-time All-Star and the WNBA's second-leading scorer in 2024 with 22.2 points per game, which led to an All-WNBA second team selection. Fans can expect to see the best version of Arike Ogunbowale as she finally has the supporting cast to let her thrive without carrying the load offensively.
For the first time in years, Ogunbowale can play more freely and get easier shots, which makes her even more dangerous. An area of her game that she would like to enhance this season is assists. Last season was a career high and can only get better with multiple players around her who can score.
Ty Harris
Harris returns to Dallas after being selected seventh overall by the Wings in the 2020 WNBA Draft. She spent her first three seasons (2020–2022) with the team before joining the Connecticut Sun, where she had a breakout year in 2024. Harris started all 38 games and posted career highs with 10.5 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game.
Harris provides valuable depth as a versatile backup at both guard positions, who is known for her reliable ball-handling and the ability to spot start when needed. Harris has been one of the most vocal on the team during practices.
Aziaha James
James was selected 12th overall from NC State, she posted a career-best 17.9 points per game with 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists in her senior year. The guard earned All-ACC First Team honors and was tabbed as an All-America Honorable Mention. James looks to be an integral part of the Wings rotation backing up Ogunbowale.
JJ Quinerly
Quinerly made a strong first impression with Wings after being selected 27th in the WNBA Draft. Quinerly recorded 16 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds in her first preseason game against the Aces. Quinerly was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year along with earning All-Big 12 First Team and All-Big 12 Defensive Team honors. She is the only player in program history to be named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Wings and Forwards
DiJonai Carrington
Carrington is the reigning WNBA Most Improved Player and was also named to the 2024 WNBA All-Defensive First Team. The guard’s scoring and rebounding averages have increased every year she has played. Carrington looks to improve her game even mor with the Wings, by having mor opportunity to create off the bounce for herself and teammates.
NaLyssa Smith
The San Antonio native and Baylor University standout is returning to Texas, looking for a fresh start with the Wings. Smith combines size, speed, and skill, making her a natural fit in Dallas’ fast-paced system. She’s averaged double-digit scoring in each of her first three WNBA seasons and averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game in 2024 with the Fever. Smith’s ability to run the floor and crash the boards adds another dynamic element to a Wings team built on tempo and versatility.
Myisha Hines-Allen
Hines-Allen is a seven-year WNBA veteran and 2019 champion with the Washington Mystics. Hines-Allen spent the majority of her career in Washington before being traded to the Minnesota Lynx midway through the 2024 season. Her leadership, versatility on both sides of the court and playoff experience make her a valuable addition to a young Dallas roster, offering veteran stability and a strong locker room presence to complement the team’s young rising players.
Maddy Siegrist
Siegrist showed took a step forward during the 2024 season, averaging 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Siegrist is poised to thrive even more in Chris Koclanes’ constant movement offense, which emphasizes her cutting, spacing, and ball movement. Her high basketball IQ and ability to find open looks in transition make her an ideal fit for a system that rewards players who can create and capitalize on opportunities in motion.
Siegrist improved her game in the offseason as her performance stood out in the Athletes Unlimited, averaging 24.3 points and 8.8 rebounds, getting back to scoring and maintaining versatility by playing multiple positions. Siegrist wants to improve her three-point shooting and took a huge step with Athletes Unlimited by shooting 42% beyond the arc.
Kaila Charles
Charles has four years of WNBA experience and last played in 2023, which she saw action in four games with the Seattle Storm, averaging 10.3 minutes per game and 1.3 points per game. Charles caught the attention of the Wings coaching staff during training camp and provides depth at the wing position.
Centers
Teaira McCowan
McCowan returns to the Wings after another season, after averaging 11.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in 2024. Her size and physicality provide a dominant interior presence, creating easy paint baskets inside and second-chance opportunities on the glass.
Hines-Allen took over McCowan’s spot in the starting lineup during preseason,to provide more versatility in Koclanes scheme. Whether as a starter or a key piece off the bench, offering the Wings flexibility in how they deploy their front court is important when they match up against opposing bigs who live in the paint.
Luisa Geiselsöder
Geiselsöder was selected 21st overall in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Wings. Geiselsöder brings international experience, size, and a strong interior skill set to the roster. While she is not with the team due to overseas obligations, the 6’4” German center adds depth in the post with her ability to finish around the rim, set solid screens, and contribute on the boards. She can also dribble from the perimeter when the opportunity exist and shoot the occasional three-point shot.
